Sometimes a front yard just needs someone to tie everything together. The bones are already there - the trees, the brick, the lawn - but without clean edges and fresh material, it all kind of blends into the background. That's exactly what we were working with here in Elida, Ohio.

We came in with fresh dark mulch and laid it across the entire front bed, wrapping cleanly around the existing trees and following the natural curve of the lawn line. Dark mulch does something really simple but really effective - it creates contrast. The brick pops, the plants stand out, and the whole yard looks intentional instead of overgrown.

River rock went in around the downspout area along the side of the house. That's a spot a lot of homeowners just ignore, but it actually serves two purposes - it handles drainage and looks great doing it. No more bare soil washing out every time it rains. We also worked some decorative rock into the bed near the front entry to break up the mulch and add a little texture.

New plants got tucked in throughout the beds to fill things out. Low-maintenance varieties that fit the space and won't demand a lot of upkeep down the road. When you pair the right plants with fresh mulch and clean edging, the whole yard holds its look for a long time without constant attention. That's kind of the goal - make it look good and keep it looking good.

This is the kind of work we really enjoy. It's not complicated, but it makes a huge difference in how a home presents itself from the street. Clean, natural, and built to last.
